Lewy bodies are minute clumps of protein that develop deep inside nerve cells. They disrupt the chemical messages between cells leading to a breakdown in communication and the eventual death of the cells.

Some of the common symptoms presented include movement difficulties, problems concentrating, lack of alertness and hallucinations. These symptoms gradually get worse as more nerve cells are destroyed and memory is affected.
