In a recent study entitled “Aberrant Lipid Metabolism in the Forebrain Niche Suppresses Adult Neural Stem Cell Proliferation in an Animal Model of Alzheimer’s Disease”, published in the journal Cell Stem Cell, a team of Canadian researchers led by Dr. Karl J. L. Fernandes found that fat droplets accumulate in the brains of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) patients.
