Allianz Donates $50,000 to Alzheimer’s Association, Helps to Raise Disease Awareness

As part of Allianz Championship week in Boca Raton, Florida, Allianz encouraged golf enthusiasts to share their favorite golf memories on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media sites — using the hashtag #AllianzBirdies — to raise awareness of the Alzheimer’s Association and its work. Two company groups —  Allianz Life and Allianz Global Investors — also marked the campaign by making a $50,000 donation to the Southeast Florida Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

“Memories are made at golf tournaments, and we are pleased to leverage the Allianz Championship to raise awareness of the great work the Alzheimer’s Association is doing to promote brain health and help those affected by the disease,” Nancy Jones, Allianz Life chief marketing officer, said in a recent press release. “By creating and sharing memories via social media, tournament attendees were able to support the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association in their own way and build community understanding and involvement.”

The “Share Your Golf Memory” campaign emphasized golf memories, old and new, from Championship attendees as well as fans around the United States. “Allianz’s focus on putting their customers at the heart of everything they do is illustrated in their dedication to help the Alzheimer’s Association achieve our mission to end Alzheimer’s disease,” said Ann May, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, Southeast Florida Chapter. “The money raised at the Allianz Championship for our local chapter will go to help fund national research as well as our local services and programs.”

Allianz Life is a longtime supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association, and has raised about $915,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association MN-ND through its annual Driving to Donate Charity Golf Tournament. All Allianz donations to the association are used to help Alzheimer’s patients, their caregivers, family members, and others impacted by the disease.

Alliance, founded in 1896, is a financial services company with more than 147,000 employees in 70 countries.
