A recent study has found that drinking certain types of tea could help reduce the risk of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.
Teas like green tea, black tea (english breakfast and earl grey), and Oolong tea contain compounds which could be beneficial to cognitive health, according to a report in the Huffington Post. A team of researchers from Singapore studied a group of aging Chinese men and women and found that those who regularly consumed tea were 50 percent less likely to suffer from cognitive decline than those who didn’t drink tea.
In addition, the risk of cognitive decline was reduced by 86 percent for those who were genetically more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease. Find out more about this study here.
